| More and more college coaches across the country are
recognizing the talent of Ohio High School Girls Lacrosse. Division I, II,
and III coaches are mining the Buckeye State for talent. Here is where the

St.
Ursula's Carly Signs With Ivy League's Columbia

The Ivy
League has recruited another Ohio school girl for the class of 2012.
Saint Ursula Academy Bulldog , Megan Carley will head to the Ivy
League and play for the Columbia University Lions. Megan is a four year
varsity starter and the first lacrosse player from Saint Ursula Academy,
Cincinnati to continue her play at the D1 level. She looks forward to
competing against her Upper Arlington/Xteam rivals Lindsay Goddard( Penn )
and Nancy Baker (Brown). |
Lady Aves Plan to Play at Next Level....
The seniors from defending State Champion Sycamore have announced their
plans to play at the next level.
Goalkeeper Brent Yenger will head north to Detroit Mercy to play for Ohio
Hall of Fame member Mary Oelgoetz. Midfielder Becca McLouth head east
to James Madison, and Ann Hershman will play for new program Adrian College
and Coach John Sung.

Upper Arlington Trio Makes College Choices
Three outstanding seniors from the #1 Upper
Arlington Golden Bears have made their selections to further their lacrosse
careers and education. Elizabeth Narwicz will play for Roanoke
College, of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Samantha Ullum has
signed with Ithaca College. The Bombers play in the Empire 8
Conference. Ullum will join former UA teammate Kylie McClure at
Ithaca. The Golden Bears leading scorer Lindsay Godard will head to
the Ivy League and the University of Pennsylvania Quakers.

Mentor
Attacker, Darby and Hudson Middies Among First Recruits for New Program at Edinboro
New
Edinboro University Coach Kevin Cooke looked west for some of his first
recruits for his new program. Rachel Elam of Mentor, Lauren Davis of
Hilliard Darby, and Abbey MacKessy of Hudson will play for him
next season. The Fighting Scotts will field their first women's lacrosse
team for the 2009 season. They play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference.

Ohio Schoolgirls players are attracting the interest of
college coaches from across the nation and at all levels. Division I,
II, and III coaches are finding a lot of talent across the state. So
many in fact, that Sticks Up! has created this page just for the purpose of
recognizing those student athletes who are taking their game to the next

Sycamore Pair Will Play
for UC and Stanford

Sycamore's two outstanding offensive players Allison
Bell (l) and Karen Nesbitt (r) have signed letters of intent to play
lacrosse at the next level.
Bell will be part of the new University of Cincinnati program.
Through 15 games in 2007 Bell has 37 goals and 6 assists.
Nesibtt will join sister Jamie at Stanford, recent winners of the
MPSF Tournament. She has 59 goals and 17 assists in 2007 and is an
outstanding defensive player.

Mount Notre Dame Pair
Headed to Next Level
Two members of Mount Notre
Dame lacrosse team, Erin Mackey and Natalie Starvaggi, are
continuing their lacrosse careers. Erin, daughter of Russell and Karen
Mackey of Lebanon, who has achieved a 5.09 weighted GPA, signed with
Lafayette College (Easton, Pennsylvania) and Natalie, daughter of
Patrick and Mary Starvaggi of Loveland, with a weighted 3.87 GPA, signed
with the University of Cincinnati.
Erin
is a three year on varsity player at MND. She serves as an MND
ambassador and as a board member of MND’s National Honor Society and
Mission Commission.
Natalie
has also played three years on the varsity. She was named MVP her
junior year and served as team captain during her junior and senior
years. She was named Second Team GGCL her sophomore year and First Team
GGCL her junior year. Natalie also played soccer for MND, serving as
captain of that team and was named MVP her senior year. At MND, Natalie
is a member of the Notre Dame Club, Spanish Club, and Video Production
Club. She served on the Strategic Planning Steering Committee Task
Group for Athletics.

Kent Roosevelt's Martin
Headed to UC Davis
Laura Martin,
senior midfielder for the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders has signed a
National Letter of Intent with the UC Davis Aggies of the Mountain
Pacific Sports Federation. UC Davis is coached by Elaine Jones.
She is a four year Midfield Starter, MVP
Offense 2005, Team MVP in 2006. She
has
participated on the Great Lakes Team for both the year 2005 and 2006.,
she was a Portage Trail Conference Honorable Mention Class of 2005,
Portage Trail Conference 1st Team, 2006, All State Ohio North
1st Team, 2006, US Lacrosse Academic All American 2006
During the off season she participated with
the Ohio Premiere Lacrosse Club formerly known as Team Ohio.
Representatives of Ohio's Midwest Force team assisted Laura in her
college search.
She is the daughter of Christopher and Carol
Martin of Kent.

Indian Hill's King Signs With Bucknell... .
Indian Hill
midfielder Andi King, has signed a National Letter of Intent to
play for the Bucknell Bisons of the
tough Patriot League. King will join CSG's Tally Wolf as the second
Ohioan recruited by Bucknell Coach Jess Spadafora.
King is Indian Hill's all time
leading scorer, having reached the 200 career goal plateau this year.

Medina's Top Scorer Commits to UMBC
Casie Boltja
of Medina has signed her letter of intent with the University of Maryland
Baltimore County. Boltja lead the Bees in scoring in 2006 with 55
goals. She will be the Medina captain in 2007.The UMBC Retrievers play
in the America East Conference and are coached by Courtney Conner,America
East Coach of the Year in 2006.

UA's Conway Selects Brown
Bears
Tori
Conway, a three year starter for the Upper Arlington Golden Bears plans
to play lacrosse for the Ivy League's Brown University Bears.
Conway has been a defensive standout for UA the past three seasons and
has also seen playing time as a midfielder. Brown is coached by
former CSG standout, Keely McDonald.

Defensive MVP Tiffany Smith will play for Robert Morris University next
season. RMU Coach Katy Phillips has these comments about her latest
recruit...
“Tiffany is a complete athlete through and through,” said coach Phillips.
“She is lightning fast, has great footwork and brings a great attitude to
the team.”

Mt. Notre Dame's Mackey Signs With
Lafayette Leopards...
Erin Mackey, a senior mid-fielder for Mount Notre Dame (MND)
High School women’s lacrosse team recently signed a letter of intent to
play for Coach Kathy Frick and the Leopards of Lafayette College in
2007.
Mackey has been a major contributor to MND’s lacrosse
team’s success over the last two years (33-9-2) since lacrosse became a
varsity sport in 2004. Mackey, one of the team’s top scorers, was
second in assists last season. She has been selected to the Girls
Greater Cincinnati League All Star team the past two years, and will be
the first player from MND to play Division I lacrosse
When asked about signing with Lafayette, Mackey stated,”
The excitement is overwhelming! I feel so privileged to attend
Lafayette next year and be part of the lacrosse program. The
combination of great academics and athletics immediately convinced me
that Lafayette was the right fit for me.”
Mackey
plans to study business at Lafayette College. The college, located in
eastern Pennsylvania, is a member of the Patriot League.

Olentangy's Kuhn Signs with North Carolina School
CHARLOTTE, NC – The Queens University of
Charlotte, women’s lacrosse team is excited to announce the signing of
Senior stand out Taylor Kuhn to National Letters of Intent for the
2007-2008 season. Taylor currently plays lacrosse for Division II State
Champs, Olentangy High School. She has been a
4 yr. varsity starter and letter winner, Div. II State Tournament
Offensive MVP, All Tournament Team Selection 2006, All Conference Team
selection 2006, Captain (Jr. & Sr. yr.),team offensive MVP and ranked 14th
in state for points in 2006.
She is the daughter of Renee and Dean Kuhn
of Lewis Center, OH. She also participated this past fall for newly
developed OH club lacrosse, “Midwestern Force”

Two Central Ohio Players Select Central
Connecticut
Upper Arlington senior, Chelsea Kuznik, and
Dublin Scioto senior, Julie Fischer, have both signed National
Letters of Intent to play Division I lacrosse for the Central Connecticut
Blue Devils coached by Rachel Tringali. Both girls participated in
tournaments in Downingtown, PA and the Naval Academy as members of the
Midwestern Force Lacrosse Club.
Chelsea
Kuznik is the daughter of Mimi
Johnson (Kuznik) and stepfather, Charlie Johnson, of Upper Arlington, OH.
She is a four- year member of the Upper Arlington High School Women’s
Lacrosse Team and has participated in UA’s soccer programs. She had also
previously played club lacrosse with the XTeam. .
Julie Fischer
is the daughter of Rick and Judy Fischer of Dublin. She was a four-year
member of the Dublin Scioto Lacrosse
Team and participated in the high
school’s volleyball and cheerleading programs.
A
midfielder/attacker, Julie will have the opportunity to make an immediate
impact for head coach Rachel Tringali’s Blue Devils. Statistics for the
previous two seasons are included below:
2006
Julie scored 35
goals (team high, leading scorer) and had 6 assists for a total of 41 points
(the team totaled 81 goals for the season). She had 31 ground balls, 12
steals, and 15 draw controls, with 34 draws taken.
2005
Julie scored 18
goals and had 4 assists for a total of 22 points (the team totaled 121 goals
for the season). She had 39 ground balls, 5 steals, and 20 draw controls.

Mason Duo Will Head East Next
Season
Erin
Swigart and Brittany Bare of the Mason Comets have announced
their college commitments for next season.
Swigart
Signs with LaSalle Explorers
Erin Swigart will take
her high-scoring prowess to Philadelphia.
The Mason High senior
signed a national letter of intent Wednesday — the first day of the early
signing period — to continue her career at La Salle University.
Swigart, Mason's
all-time leading scorer, tallied 58 goals and 22 assists this past spring to
help the Comets reach the Division II Final Four.

Second Ohioan on Fairfield Squad
Mason senior Brittany
Bare has given Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn., a verbal commitment,
and is expected to sign a national letter of intent during the early signing
period.
She picked the Stags
over Denison, Holy Cross, Gettysburg College and Saint Joseph's University.
She will join UA's
Abbey Goodwin as the second Buckeye to play for Fairfield Coach Stacey
McCue.
Bare scored 14 goals
and dished out seven assists her junior season — only her second full year
playing lacrosse.

Hudson's
Jackie Dysart, one of the state's top defenders has made a verbal to
Towson University in Maryland.

Upper
Arlington Midfielder Molly Everett, a force on both ends of the field the
last two seasons for the Golden Bears, has committed to the University of
Virginia. Molly will join Marimont's Allo Perry, who is a freshman at
UVa.
The Cavaliers are the defending

Sycamore All American Karen Nesbitt, will join sister Jamie, Amy Stillwell,(TW), Charity Fluharty (CSG) and Dana Lindsay (CH) at Stanford
University in Palo Alto, CA.
Also
making the trip west to Stanford will be Mariemont's Leslie Foard.
Foard was the Warriors' second leading scorer as a junior with 40 goals and
29 assists.

Marisa
Rainieri, a midfielder from Green High School in Green Ohio
has signed to continue her lacrosse career at Notre Dame College. She is the
11th Ohio Schoolgirl player in the incoming freshmen class. Marisa was
a varsity starter since her programs inception. Rainieri, was leading
scorer, and recipient of the Hustle Award in 2006

This Year for Falcons....
Recently Westerville
High School senior Danielle Ulry signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play
lacrosse for Notre Dame College beginning with the 2006-07 academic year.
Ulry is a midfielder and one
the leading goal scorers in the state of Ohio this season. She also lead
the OSLA in goals per game with an average of 4.18.
"Danielle comes to
Notre Dame with a tremendous amount of playing experience, and a stellar
high school career," said NDC head coach Candace Taglianetti. With
Danielle's determination, work ethic, and knack for finding the back of
the net, the Falcons expect her to make an immediate impact

Raiders George Commits to New Hampshire WildcatsEmily
George takes her game to University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Emily is
a current senior and Varsity lacrosse player who has verbally committed to
play lacrosse for the NH Wildcats. She will be signing a National Letter of
Intent next month to continue her lacrosse career and her education there.
She was a three-year member for Shaker Heights High School lacrosse program,
Shaker Hts., OH and a two-year member of XTeam Lacrosse. She also played two
years for Team Ohio, one of Ohio's top summer programs. She was a First
Team All League selection last year for her program. She is the daughter of
Debra Rex-George and George George.

Notre Dame College Continues Recruiting Success in Ohio
Land More Ohioans
Emily Jones, a defensive midfielder from Kent
Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio; and a varsity starter in both
lacrosse and field hockey. Emily is a player on the rise in Northeast Ohio,
and has really taken the reins of the Kent High School program. Emily has
emerged as one of the top players in the area, and we expect her to continue
improving as she takes her game to the college level. “Emily has great
speed, great athleticism, and can shut down the areas top attackers. Emily
will be looked upon to have a similar role at the collegiate level, and we
expect her to make an immediate impact in the lineup.”
Lauren Nearon, a defender from Cleveland Heights
High School in Cleveland, Ohio; and a varsity starter on an extremely
talented high school team. Lauren is a young but talented athlete that has
a great athletic background. Lauren has great size and instincts which
should help the defensive presence of the Notre Dame College Women’s
Lacrosse Team. “Lauren has been a member of the Cleveland Heights Lacrosse
program which is consistently one of the top programs in the state. Lauren
knows what it takes to win, and we hope that we can count on her experiences
to enable us to have the same success.”
Jenn Adams, a midfielder from Andrews School in
Mayfield Heights, Ohio; and four year varsity starter. Since the day
Coach Taglianetti stepped foot on The Notre Dame College campus she knew
what an asset Jen Adams could be for her program. Jen is an all around
exceptional athlete that has endless potential which she earn her some key
playing time in her freshman season. Jen is extremely aggressive,
competitive, and has the ability to become a dominate college lacrosse
player. “To bring in a player of Jen’s caliber is a huge leap in the right
direction for our young program. I believe Jen will be a key factor in our
programs success!”
Rosie
Garam, a midfielder from Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio; and a
varsity starter since her programs inception. Since the inception of the
Mentor lacrosse program, Rosie has been the leader both on and off the
field. Rosie is a member of Team Ohio and has competed in several national
tournaments with this elite team throughout the summers. “Rosie is one of
the top players on the rise in Northeastern Ohio and looks to continue her
success at the college level. Rosie’s game sense, stick skills and pure
athleticism will help the Falcon’s all over the field. Rosie is extremely
versatile, and really improves daily, and it will be exciting to watch her
develop at the college level.”
Marissa
Lundgren, a goalkeeper from Green High School in Green, Ohio; and a
varsity starter. Although Marissa is young to the sport of lacrosse she has
already served as the anchor of the Green defense. A captain, and true
leader on and off the field, Marissa has the quick hands and fearlessness to
take her game to the collegiate level. “Marissa has extremely quick hands,
quick reflexes and great vision; all which complement her work ethic.
Marissa will be looked to gain experience in her first season with the
falcons, and should be a key component for the future of the program.
Emily Moore, an
attacker from Revere High School in Akron Ohio looks to make the transition
from the high school to collegiate level. Moore is an experienced player
with great athleticism, quickness, and versatility. Moore is an all around
athlete, competing in several World Jump Rope Championships, and garnering
some top honors at these events. Moore also established herself second on
the team in scoring and point totals in her junior campaign. Moore averages
1 goal per game and she will provide the Falcons with some extra consistency
in the attacking end. “Emily is no stranger to pressure, competing at
several world championships. Emily is very shifty, and quick around the
crease, and should also make an immediate impact in the lineup.”
Sarah
Hutchison, a midfielder from Dublin Scioto High School in Columbus, Ohio,
and four year varsity player will make the transition from the high school
to college game look easy. Hutchison will be counted on for her speed,
aggression and stick skills to make an immediate impact for the Falcons.
Sarah was a category leader in ground balls with 51 as a junior, third on
her team in draw controls, (a focus on next years recruiting class), and
fourth on her team in total points. “Sarah is a tremendous athlete with
great potential. Sarah has proved her self at the high school level, and
will once again be looked to be that impact player at the college level.”
Courtney
Jackson, a midfielder from Thomas Worthington High School in Columbus Ohio,
will add much needed experience and versatility in the Notre Dame lineup.
Jackson combines speed, endurance, athleticism, and solid stick work to help
build the future of the young program.
Stacey Gowe,
another Ohio native is a very experienced player form Medina High School in
Medina, Ohio. Gowe is an extremely decorated player, (Team Ohio Player),
and is arguably one of the top players in the state of Ohio. Gowe will be
looked at to make an immediate impact in the midfield with her lightning
speed, aggressive play, and sharp stick work. “Stacey is a tremendous
athlete, coupled with a hard worker. Stacey will make the transition from
the high school game to college with ease. Look to see her name in the near
future!”

Ashley Todaro, a
current senior at Columbus School for Girls has verbally committed
to play lacrosse for the Lafayette Leopards. Lafayette
is a D1 program and is a member of the premier Patriot League. Head
Coach, Kathy Frick is very excited with what Ashley will bring to
the table with her natural leadership and strong stick skills.
Ashley is Varsity Letter
winner for CSG's program for the last four years and has played
attack for them. She has also participated on The Great Lakes Team
at the National Tournament in Lehigh, PA for both her sophomore and
junior year. She was a First Team, All District, and All Regional
Selection for Ohio. She was also selected to play on The Cup Nations
Team, which was an invitational only opportunity during the World
Cup Games last summer in Annapolis, MD. She is a three-year member
of the XTeam. She is the daughter of Gerry Todaro and
Barb Waters of Columbus.

Class of 2006 has committed to play lacrosse for the Bucknell
Bisons in Lewisburg, PA. Bucknell is a member of the elite
Patriot league.
Tally who is currently a senior
attending Columbus School for Girls in Columbus. She has been playing
midfield for their lacrosse program for the past three seasons. Tally has
participated for the Great Lakes Team One at the National Tournament last
season.
Tally is known for her quick feet and
easy transitioning on the field. She has a strong vision and Head Coach,
Jess Spadafora, is eager to utilize those skills come next fall.
Tally was also known at Columbus
School for girls for her skill on the soccer field.
She is the daughter of John Wolff and
Ann Crane. Of New Albany, Ohio.

Stillwell, Fluharty and Lindsay Head West..... .
Three of Ohio's top seniors have signed letters of intent to continue their
lacrosse careers at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Amy
Stillwell, Thomas Worthington, Charity Fluharty of Columbus School for Girls and Dana Lindsey, Cleveland Heights, will be
headed west next fall to play for Coach Michelle Uhlfelder.
Dana Lindsay, who excelled in
both field hockey and lacrosse at Cleveland Heights High School,
has signed a national letter-of-intent in the early-signing period to
continue her lacrosse career at Stanford University. Dana has
helped lead Heights to two Final-Four appearances (2004, 2005), has set
school records for goals (82 in 2004) and points (95 in 2005) in a season,
and has career totals of 183 goals and 39 assists. In recognition of her
efforts, Dana has been named First Team Ohio North (2004, 2005) First Team
All-State (2005), was selected as a member of the Great Lakes National
Team (2004, 2005), and was honored with All-American status in 2005.
She is also a member of the XTeam.
She is the daughter of Greg and Elise Lindsay of Cleveland Heights.
Amy Stillwell, Thomas Worthington's hot shooting lefty, has signed a
letter of intent to play lacrosse at Stanford University. Stillwell was the
Cards leading scorer in 2005 with 83 goals and 35 assists. She was
also the leading scorer on the TW 2005 Field Hockey team that made it to the
state semi finals. Amy was a 2005 Honorable Mention All American and
has been first team all district for the past two seasons. She will
captain the Thomas Cardinals in 2006.

Charity Fluharty, CSG, is the third Buckeye to commit to the
Cardinal. She was the Unicorns "go to" player in 2005 with 37 goals
and 14 assists. She has 55 goals and 22 assists over two years. She
was first team All District in 2003-04 and 2005. She was also a member
of the Great Lakes Team 1 at the Women's National Tournament. Charity
was also a three year letter winner in soccer and basketball for CSG.
Her coaches comments described her "natural athletic ability, speed, and
instincts are incredible."
The trio will join Jamie Nesbitt, the fourth Ohioan at the Palo Alto school.

Nagle Signs with
Mercyhurst Lakers....

Katie Nagle
last season' s OSLA Division II State Tournament
Co-Offensive MVP, has signed to continue her lacrosse career at Mercyhurst
College in Erie, PA. Nagle led her team team by posting a
three-year total of 95 goals and 61 assists totaling 156 points.
She has played two seasons
of club lacrosse for XTeam,
and will join teammate, XTeam
goaltender, Maeve McGoff, (Mariemont) at Div II, Mercyhurst.in
the fall . Nagle, a 3.879 grade point student, four year scholar-athlete,
and two year member of NHS, signed to accept a combined Academic &
Athletic Scholarship package to
Mercyhurst
College (Erie, PA) is led by second-year Head Women's Coach, Cecil Pilson.

Olentangy Senior Katie Nagle is joined by her coach Corrin Baughman,
her parents and sister Alicia, for the signing of her national letter of
intent to attend Mercyhurst College and continue her lacrosse career.

Two Hudson Explorers Look to Play at the Next Level
Caitlin Carducci,
Class of 2006 has committed to play lacrosse for Duquesne Dukes
in Pittsburgh, PA. Caitlin will be signing a National Letter of
Intent in the spring signing period. She has tended the goal for the last
three seasons. Caitlin has participated on Team Ohio for one season and on
the Great Lakes Team for two years representing the State of Ohio. She was a
Second Team All League her junior year and an Honorable Mention All League
her sophomore year. She recorded the second highest save percentage for the
state last year during her regular high school season.

Hudson's Bucci Commits to Nittany Lions
XTeam Lacrosse is proud to announce
that Theresa Bucci of Hudson, OH has verbally committed to Penn State
University to play lacrosse. Theresa is currently attending
Hudson High School and plans to graduate in the spring of 2006. She is the
daughter of Dave and Kathleen Bucci.
She is a three-year letterer in
lacrosse for Hudson High School and a three-year member of XTeam Lacrosse, a
non-traditional National Lacrosse Club. Theresa was nominated for Honorable
Mention All American for the Premier East Coast Galaxy League for the summer
of 2004-2005. She was also Second Team All League for Ohio her junior year.
In addition to lacrosse, Theresa has
been a three-year letter winner and an all-conference selection for Hudson's
Soccer program. She is considered the anchor for Hudson's defensive team.
She has also lettered for Hudso's Basketball program. Theresa will bring a
great deal of speed to her college program along with outstanding athletic
ability.

Bremer Continues UA-NU
Connection..

Senior Maggie
Bremer has committed to play lacrosse for the Northwestern University
Wildcats. She is the third Golden Bear in three years to head to
Evanston. Northwestern won the Division I NCAA title in 2005.
Maggie was named
Tournament Offensive MVP for the 2005 OSLA State Champion Golden Bears. She
was also on the Great Lakes Team 1 for the National Tournament.
Maggie also is a
member of the Upper Arlington Varsity Basketball team. She was named
Captain for the 2005-2006 season. Last year she was named 2nd
team all league for basketball.
Maggie is the
daughter of Don and Dianne Bremer of Upper Arlington.
Burke Commits to Buckeyes...
Upper Arlington's Laura Burke has
verbally committed to play lacrosse at the Ohio State University. Laura is
completing her senior year at Upper Arlington High School in Central Ohio,
and she will lead the lacrosse team as a 2006 captain.
Laura is a three-year letter winner in UA lacrosse, and she was
first-team All-Region for the 2005 season. She also was named to the Ohio
Lacrosse Foundation All-American first team her junior year. She was a major
factor in the Golden Bears 2004 and 2005 State Championships.
Laura will continue her lacrosse career as a Buckeye in the Fall of 2006.
