    Tournament Provides $2052 Donation to OSLA

What better way to work off all that turkey and pumpkin pie but to play some lacrosse? And why not play with friends who are your opponents during the regular season.   Well that is exactly what 130 girls did over the Thanksgiving weekend to benefit OSLA. The event was held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at North Coast Soccer Complex in Hudson, Ohio.  Fifteen teams composed of players throughout the state of Ohio and a team from Toronto, Canada completed in a 7 v 7 format with teams advancing from pool play to either a championship or consolation bracket. The championship game featured the “Banana Peels” (pictured below) and Ohio Premier’s “White Snow.” As champions of the 2007 Gobble Gobble Tournament, the Banana Peels took home the newly released goggles from Brine.  Members of the White Snow each received a Brine Synergy stick.

Midwestern Force Lacrosse Club, who organized the event, would like to thank all of those players who participated to make this event such a success.  Special thanks goes to the event sponsors: Brine Lacrosse, Lexicomp, McDonald’s of Hudson, Western Reserve Racquet Club, Renewal by Anderson, and Safety Today.  Midwest Force made a donation of $2052 to OSLA from the tournament. While there are no immediate plans for the grant, it could be used for player camp scholarships, coaching clinics, or improvements to the OSLA web site.

     Six Mason High School Players were teamed up with only 6 
other players from schools in New York, Virginia, and 
California.  They played 5 regulation games (with running clock)  going 5-0 in pool play 
and then won their semi-final and final to win the tournament, defeating host Loyola Academy in the finals.

The Mason girls who played  were Lauren Stefan, Adrianna Piontek, Jen Bieszczak, Kristin Wood, 
Jaime Swigart and Ashton Limpert. The team was coached by Alli Jacobs, midfielder for the NCAA

Champion Northwestern Wildcats.

  The defending OSLA Division I State Champions will host their first "Ice Breaker" Tournament on Saturday, March 15, 2008.  Teams can specify the number of games and level of competition they would like to play.  Turf fields, Registration deadline is Jan 24, 2008.  Tournament is open to all teams.  For registration forms and additional information click HERE or contact Coach Eddie Clark at mailto:ohiolax@yahoo.com

Windy City Classic Will Be April 18 & 19, 2008,   Deadline for Registration Dec. 1, 2007
